What is the Tariff Surcharge?

Update on US Tariff Refunds (April 21, 2026)
We are aware the US government has started processing tariff refunds. We are monitoring this and will apply for any rebates we may be eligible for.
Please note: We are skeptical that anything close to the full amount will be returned to small businesses like ours. The process is complex and may likely yield only a fraction of the total costs incurred. Additionally, there were significant non-refundable expenses tied to these tariffs that we know we won't get back.
For context, we deliberately chose to pass only a small portion of the overall tariff-related costs onto our customers, absorbing the majority ourselves to best minimize the impact on normal business.
What this means for you: If we receive refunds on tariffs passed through via our 10% surcharge, we will evaluate all options, putting our past customers and US clientele in general at the front and centre. If returning savings directly isn't feasible, we would look to reinvest any returned funds positively in the US Ultimate market specifically.
Timeline: We expect this to take months if not years. We will communicate updates as we hear more.

What’s Happening?
We want to be upfront with you about a change we’re making that affects all orders shipping to the United States. These tariffs currently only affect our clients in the USA; all other orders are unaffected and can proceed business as usual.
Recently, the U.S. government introduced significant import tariffs on apparel and other goods entering the country. These changes have dramatically increased the input and final costs of the products that we ship you.
What Does This Mean for You?
- To continue providing high-quality gear and exceptional service without compromising on our standards, we’re implementing a 10% surcharge on U.S. orders. This will be reflected on checkout on any orders from our US team store (beultimate.com) OR via our retail store if the shipping address is in the USA. While the actual increase in costs is significantly higher, we’ve chosen to absorb the majority of it ourselves to reduce the immediate impact on you.
- In addition, US team orders will have to hit a minimum of 6 units for each team store, or be subject to an additional $30 fee (in addition to the 10% on each item).
- With that in mind, we suggest working with your sales rep to plan your ordering period accordingly. We hope this extra fee should be avoidable in most cases as long as your team is organized!
Will the Surcharge Change?
Given the fluid nature of the current political environment, this surcharge may increase or decrease over time. We’re closely monitoring the situation. If these tariffs remain in place or rise further, it’s likely that the surcharge will need to increase in the future.
Likewise, if the tariffs are reduced or lifted, we’ll look to lower or remove the surcharge accordingly.
Why Not Just Raise Prices?
We chose a surcharge because it’s temporary and transparent. It gives us flexibility to adapt to a rapidly evolving trade landscape without making permanent changes to product pricing across our entire catalog.
