Sharing information as to why it's important that uniform guidelines (USAU, WFDF, Ultimate Canada, etc) are followed.
We understand that following uniform guidelines (for example, USAU's) can feel quite restrictive. It might throttle some of the creativity you or the team were expecting to enjoy with full sublimation printing, but there are a lot of benefits that come from following the guidelines.
Firstly is that you'll avoid extra hassle with your respective governing body. Ultimately, even if you don't agree with it, by following the rules they set you'll avoid any repercussions later in the year, leaving you one less thing to worry about as the season progresses.
Secondly, by following the guidelines, you'll likely help make Ultimate look more legitimate! Passers by (either in person, or people seeing highlights online) might get their interest peaked about a player, a team, or the sport in general, if they are able to better understand who's who and what the objectives are.
Lastly, to help promote the players on your team. Not only will identification be a lot easier from companies like Ultiworld for recaps and reviews, or on highlight reels or clips online, but also from potential National Team coaches and managers. We've heard first hand that National Teams will scout video footage ahead of tryouts (or deciding who to invite to tryouts), and by setting your team up for success with the uniform guidelines, you're making sure that any plays they make on the field are identifiable and can be correctly accredited.
