On our sizing charts, we quote our waist circumference as a 'relaxed' measurement.
The measurements might look exceptionally small when compared to, for example, your favorite pair of jeans, but there's good reason for that: it's because the waistband is elasticized and designed to comfortable stretch between around 1.2x, or more, than the measurement shown.
Depending on how you like your shorts to fit (tighter and form fitting, or more relaxed and supported with the drawstring), and by using our tailored-to-fit sizing options, there are multiple ways to select a fit that will work best for you.
